Service Pack Manager 2000 Patches Windows 2000 Systems with Service Pack 4 and Supports Windows 2003 Server Family

San Diego, CA (July 7, 2003): Gravity Storm Softwaretoday announced the release of Service Pack Manager 2000
version 6.9.5.0 (SPM2000). This automated enterprise-wide security
utility enables administrators to analyze and fix security
vulnerabilities and stability problems in Windows NT/2000/XP and
additional Microsoft products, such as SQL, IIS, ISA, Exchange,
IE, and others. The new version also supports Windows 2003 Server
family and Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000. The software is
agentless and operates on remote machines from a central console.
WORM PROTECTION
Gravity Storm Software customers were protected from high-profile
viruses including the recent SQL Slammer worm, Code Red and Nimda
worms. Use of Service Pack Manager 2000 provided its customers with
up to date protection utilizing available security patches.
The SPM 2000 customer base has experienced tremendous growth with
over 200,000 systems under management. The product has been selected
by numerous government organizations including the Pentagon, NASA,

NEW FEATURES AND ENHANCEMENTS
The new version enhances the product's ability to manage security
patching of small, medium, and large business at the enterprise level
by providing a range of new features and improvements. SPM 2000 offers
enhancements in three key areas: 1) custom template-based reporting,
2) enhanced filtering, and 3) the ability to organize an enterprise
network as a hierarchical groups of machines based on a user's
arbitrary criteria.
- Reporting
Template-based report wizard allows customization of the scan results,
including report appearance and filtering based on variety criteria,
such as hotfix severity rating, security hotfixes, OS version, Service
Pack level, and more. The templates can be stored in a centralized
location on a network share.
- NetGroups
The NetGroups feature has been revamped to allow users to create
custom hierarchical groups of computers of unlimited nesting levels,
organized by user's arbitrary criteria. All the NetGroups functionality
is available either by intuitive drag-n-drop or from right-click popup
menu on the network tree. Adding computers to the custom groups can be
done either by machine name, IP address, or a range of IP addresses.
The IP addresses resolution is optional, allowing IP addresses to be
displayed on the network tree. Export and import of the selected custom
groups to and from .CSV text files is included.
