The arrival in London of Samantha reunites the girls for the first time in ten years and triggers a chain of events that will change their lives forever. Caffeine Nights Publishing will specialise in publishing contemporary and crime fiction, publishing a small number of titles every year.
The key to our success is publishing books we believe in. CNP books will be quirky, thrilling, funny, and scary as hell, but most of all, entertaining. We want people to have a memorable time reading our fiction, and if we scare them or make them laugh, or just capture their imagination for a while, then we have achieved what we set out to do.
Darren E Laws explained what inspired him to write ‘Tripping’. “I wanted to move chick lit to a darker place. From the feedback I received with Turtle Island when it was originally published back in 2003, I realised that women enjoy dark and thrilling fiction and that there is a female audience out there who are growing tired of lightweight books on ‘shopping and babies’. If you read a saga novel you realise the female appetite for things a little darker.”
Based in Kent and publishing contemporary and crime fiction. Tripping is the first publication from Caffeine Nights Publishing. We aim to make you laugh, thrill you, scare you, have you on the edge of your seat with your fingers gripping the pages tightly, but most of all, we want to entertain you with fiction aimed at the heart and the head…
Tripping is a surreal black comedy drama that looks at the lives of four friends and how the ripple effect of an event at university comes back to haunt them over a decade later. Samantha arrives in London for a reunion with three university friends, but she is hiding a secret with a ten-year history that has touched and irrevocably changed the lives of everyone, even if they don’t quite know it yet. The story charts the lives of the four girls who at university have the world at their feet.
Ten years later they have become women searching for the most elusive of dreams…happiness. A modern fable that explores the complexities of life’s most intricate paradox, balancing the mundane world of shattered dreams with secrets, lies and deception. Tripping is a step into a modern day wonderland. The events of a hot summer week in May during their reunion will change their lives forever.
