Amptronix Launches Ultra Slim VIA C7 & CN700 Platform Fanless Panel Computers for Industrial Application

Walnut, California, March, 2007 – Amptronix is announcing the availability of VIA C7 & CN700 platform ultra slim fanless panel computers, the APC-6821 series. The APC-6821 series is low power consumption, fanless panel computers with 10", 12" and 15" inches touschreen LCD displays integrated. It is designed to meet the harsh industrial environment applications such as Factory/Industrial Human Machine Interface (HMI), Multimedia, Gaming, Digital Signage, KIOSK, POI, Medical, Car/Vessel and Automation appliance.

Compact and Comprehensive
APC-6821 series is built with the most advanced VIA embedded solutions VIA C7 processor and the VIA CN700 & 8237R chipset. APC-6821 series have 50% better write bandwidth, more L1/L2 cache , better graphic performance, more excellent digital media application performance, yet lower power consumption and heat dissipation compared with that of APC-6820A series.

The complete set of security primitives bundled within APC-6821 processors can provide increased security and performance. For examples, the primitive "building-block" functions, including Hardware Random Number Generator, Encryption (Symmetric & Public Key acceleration) and Secure Hash are designed for security demand, and execution protection (NX) is designed for countering email worms/viruses protection.

With the low-heat, low-power fanless solution, APC-6821 series is capable of handling the demanding 7/24 application (7 days a week, 24 hours a day non-stop operation). It also can maintain a very low noise free wit, important in many silent-required or dusty environments.
Moreover, with its sleek and ultra slim design, it can be placed diversely to accommodate any working space. Users can take APC-6821 series for wall-mount or desk-mount application. NEMA4/IP65 compliant front bezel is made by Aluminum or Stainless steel, also can be changed to customer's ID design. Or customer can select the front panel made by steel.

APC-6821 series are equipped with industrial level LCD panels for information display and with option of using a resistive or capacitive touchscreen. For industrial automation, IP65/NEMA4 water/dust proof front bezel and anti-vibration mechanism below hard drive is designed particularly for limited space environments and has been approved for shock and vibration tests at 1.0G (17~500Hz) in operation mode with hard drive.

APC-6821 can optionally be equipped with mini PCI Wireless card and a fixed rotational WLAN antenna which supports IEEE 802.11b/g for wireless network connection. By installing a mini PCI LAN card can support dual LAN ports demand. Boot from CF or DOM which can support varied embedded operating systems including Windows 2000/XP, Windows CE.NET, Windows XPe, and Linux.

Ample I/O ports and unique power system
Sufficient I/O ports make it possible to use the APC-6821 with a wide range of peripherals. There are 3 COM ports (RS-232 x 2, RS-232/422/485 x 1), 4 USB2.0 ports, 1 fast Ethernet port, audio ports, Compact Flash socket, PCMCIA socket, and mouse/keyboard interface. It's also possible to be equipped with a VGA connector for second display. A special design power supply system which customer can freely input 12~28 V power, APC-6821 can automatically convert power for it usage.
