E BUNNY MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN LAS VEGAS

It really takes a village to pull off the E BUNNY program every year. The private, charitable group has grown in 16 years, from delivering 25 baskets the first year to more than 800 Easter baskets here in Las Vegas last year.

Baskets go to kids who need them most. Beyond the neon glitz of the Strip, thousands of children live under impoverished circumstances, many homeless…. in temporary housing, under the most depressing conditions.

"We get requests from shelters every year," says coordinator and program founder Barbara Kenig. "We specifically look for groups and organizations that aren't sponsored by large charities or outreach programs; we look for those who otherwise wouldn't have Easter baskets for the kids."

Since 1990, E BUNNY has delivered thousands of baskets to children in need with the generousity of retailers, industry, individual contributors and dedicated volunteers. Merchants and manufacturers across America (the likes of Sam's Club, Russ Berrie and Company, Walmart, Ty, Bestever, 99 Cents Only Stores, and Target Stores) have helped through the years.

Organizations receiving baskets this year include the Las Vegas City Mission, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, and Straight From the Streets.
In addition, E BUNNY volunteers will pass out baskets to children living in the poorest pockets of the city during the week before Easter, and on Easter morning.

You can make a difference in a child's life by purchasing an Easter basket before March 26th and donating it to the E BUNNY "One Special Basket for One Special Child" program. Easter baskets range in price from $7-15 and up, and they can be purchased at any drugstore, supermarket, Walmart, Target or other retail store.

Easter is the season of hope and renewal. What better time to put a smile on the face of a child who really doesn't have much to smile about, and be part of a community effort that makes a real difference.
