BCC Software Adds Suppression Services to Slate of Mail Manager 2010 List-Enhancement Offerings

Rochester, NY — BCC Software, a leading developer of high-performance solutions for professional mailers, has added an array of Suppression Services to the assortment of BCC Data Services that are available to users of Mail Manager 2010 and Mail Manager 2010 LE software.By using these Suppression Services prior to sending mailing jobs, mailers can identify and omit from their mailings recipients who do not wish to receive a specific offer, or may be unlikely to respond. This minimizes wasted mailpieces, while increasing projected response rates and improving overall return on investment.
Included in BCC’s slate of Suppression Services are:
*Mail Preference Service (MPS): Managed by the Direct Marketing Association, this list includes people who have opted not to receive advertising mail.
*Deceased Master File Suppression: Flags addresses whose primary residents have died (per U.S. Social Security Administration and other sources).
*Prison Suppression: Compares list data against a national directory of addresses identified as prisons.
*Pander Files: Uses written requests from outside organizations to have a name and address removed from mailing lists.
*Business/Shopping Center Addresses: Compiled from regional White Pages listings.
*College Addresses: Compares addresses in your lists to a database of approximately 220 ZIP Codes assigned to colleges or universities.
*Military ZIP Codes: Flags addresses featuring ZIP Codes corresponding to military installations.
*Nursing Homes: Matches addresses against those that have been identified as nursing homes.
*Relative Input of Another’s Death: Similar to Deceased Master File, but consisting of written do-not-mail notifications from a relative of a deceased person.
*Retirement Homes: Similar to Nursing Home Suppression, this service isolates addresses that have been identified as retirement homes.
*Trailer Park: Flags mobile home/trailer park addresses.
As with all BCC Data Services — including United States Postal Service® NCOALink™ technology, Delivery Sequence File Second Generation (DSF2™) with Delivery Point Validation (DPV™), and more — these Suppression Services can be accessed by a single mouse click from any Mail Manager 2010 or MailManager 2010 LE job. A wizard-driven process collects the desired lists, allows the selection of whatever BCC Data Services are specified for that mailing, and packages the lists for convenient electronic submission. Next-day turnarounds are the norm for these services, with same-day returns available for a surcharge.
“This is an exciting addition to our Data Services offerings,” said Mark Higgins, BCC Data Services Manager. “It’s natural for companies to want to maximize their return on investment for every mailing. Suppression Services through Mail Manager 2010 or LE can significantly help to achieve that result.”
