Chester County Women (CCW) donated $500 to the Chester County Fund for Women and Girls at CCW’s February 28th monthly meeting. The presentation by Dr. Bronwyn L. Martin, Founder and President of CCW, to Heidi McPherson, executive director of The Fund came after a short presentation by Ms. McPherson and how 100% of the money will be used in grant awarding and not on operations costs. To tie in with the donation, Erica Wadel, CLU, gave her presentation on “Strong Women: Powerful Financial Strategies”.Ms. Wadel is a friend and colleague of Dr. Martin. Both women are franchisee owners with Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. The money was raised throughout 2006 via attendees buying raffle tickets through the CCW Queen of Heart Club and a portion of the meeting cost to the CCW Breakfast Club. Both ‘clubs’, started in 2006, were ideas of Dr. Martin and are a part of the organization that Dr. Martin started in May 2003. CCW has raised over $17,000 for ovarian cancer awareness in 2 years and continues to have executive directors of other non-profit organizations in Chester County present at CCW meetings to create awareness around issues affecting women and children in the community.
Programs are designed to underscore CCW’s mission and reflect it’s spirit of leadership, diversity, and community.
