MORE THAN 20,000 PEOPLE WORLDWIDE NOW USE SLEEPTRACKER® FOR A BETTER START TO THE DAY

(ATLANTA – February 28, 2007) - Innovative Sleep Solutions’ unique sleep-monitoring and wake-up device, SLEEPTRACKER®, is now helping more than 20,000 people worldwide wake up feeling refreshed. With the appearance of a standard wristwatch, SLEEPTRACKER monitors the wearer's sleep patterns to detect the best possible waking time - allowing the wearer to wake up more refreshed and alert from a light sleep stage. “I knew I had developed a product that met a huge need of the general population – the desire to get a good night’s sleep and to feel more energized in the morning,” said Lee Loree, developer of SLEEPTRACKER. “I could have never predicted the product would see the rapid sales we have experienced in the first two years – SLEEPTRACKER has been a phenomenal success.”
Launched in 2005, SLEEPTRACKER was cash flow positive after just the first month in business and was profitable after six months. Since then, the company has seen 49 percent year over year growth and continues to build momentum. The same is expected for 2007, as SLEEPTRACKER sold more than 100 percent of plan for the month of January - a historically slow month - and is on par to make plan for February as well.
SLEEPTRACKER has been a success in the Unites States, but also overseas. In addition to selling to customers in more than 58 countries, including far-reaching Zimbabwe, Innovative Sleep Solutions has established agreements with distributors in 30 countries. These distributors have experienced strong sales growth with the product, especially in Asia.
SLEEPTRACKER helps people easily make the transition from asleep to awake by waking a person during a light sleep stage. During a typical night, a person goes through several sleep cycles, throughout which varying levels of alertness are experienced. During some stages of these sleep cycles, people are in a very deep sleep from which it is hard to wake. During other stages, they are just on the brink of awakening. If a standard morning alarm sounds during a deep sleep, a person will wake tired and groggy. The opposite is true if the alarm is sounded during an “almost-awake” moment, when the person will wake more refreshed and alert.
To determine when to sound the alarm, SLEEPTRACKER monitors sleep patterns throughout the night and during a pre-set morning alarm window that the user chooses. The first instance of an almost-awake moment during that morning window, the SLEEPTRACKER alarm sounds.
For example, a user sets the alarm for 7:30 a.m. with a 30-minute window. This means that he needs to be awoken by 7:30 a.m., but if SLEEPTRACKER finds a moment of restlessness any time after 7 a.m., it would sound the alarm early. The idea is that a person will feel more refreshed if awoken from a light sleep at 7:10 a.m. than from a deep sleep at 7:30 a.m.
Through an initial development trial with a sleep physician and microelectrical engineer, it was determined that light sleep stages are always associated with movement (95+ percent of the time sleeping there is no movement). By measuring lateral movement in amplitude - via an accelerometer – SLEEPTRACKER can track the very brief "almost awake" moments during a sleep cycle.
SLEEPTRACKER has normal watch features including time, day, date and standard alarm settings, as well as a snooze function. It is water-resistant, has a night-glow feature and carries a one-year warranty. SLEEPTRACKER is available for $149.00 at www.sleeptracker.com and has a 30-day money back guarantee.
