Petroleum-Free Compostable Packaging has New American and Canadian Distributors

February 2007 - Excellent Packaging & Supply, California-based developer of BioMass™ Sustainable Foodservice Packaging, has announced two local distributors for the BioMass™ product line in the Los Angeles and Quebec areas.

Excellent Packaging & Supply, incorporated in 2004, introduced its BioMass™ Sustainable Foodservice Packaging line in 2006. BioMass™ packaging is produced from agricultural byproducts and other bio-based materials rather than petroleum, resulting in compostable and biodegradable waste. The BioMass™ product line includes all traditional disposable foodservice wares, from flatware and dishes to hinged containers, and all are made from renewable resources.

EPS now announces that it will be making its products more widely available through two new distributors; Trade Supplies of Los Angeles, California, and Nova Envirocom of Sherbrooke, Quebec. These two companies will provide BioMass™ products to the Los Angeles and Quebec areas, respectively.

Trade Supplies, Inc. has been in the foodservice business for over thirty years and maintains an excellent reputation for its service and the variety of products it provides. They were quick to recognize the value of recyclable and sustainable products in this industry and will be able to share them with their current customers and more to come.

Nova Envirocom is a Quebec-based firm dedicated to providing environmentally-friendly packaging and product solutions to commercial and private interests alike. As a wholesaler of recyclable products and a provider of composting services, Nova Envirocom not only helps to establish BioMass™ products within Quebec ,but is pushing forward the process of strengthening bio-based waste streams. With the help of Nova Envirocom, EPS hopes to bring about strong change in how food and packaging waste is managed in years to come.

With demand for bio-based products and packaging higher than ever before, these two distributors will allow EPS and BioMass™ products to reach more consumers as quickly as possible.


Excellent Packaging & Supply was founded in 2003 in Richmond, California. EPS’s BioMass™ product line offers compostable food containers, flatware, and other foodservice packaging made from a variety of materials. Materials include Spudware™ cutlery, derived from potato starch, Bagasseware™, made from sugarcane and bamboo pulps, and Natureworks™ PLA. Natureworks™ PLA is derived entirely from USA-grown corn and provides clear plastic-like cups, straws, can liners, and more. All BioMass™ products are made from renewable resources, and are biodegradable and compostable.
