Students at Art Institute of Tampa win seven awards at the 2006 – 2007 ADDYs

Students from The Art Institute of Tampa won seven awards at the 2006 – 2007 ADDYs after submitting 9 of 60 overall student entries to this year’s ADDY awards.
The Awards given include the Best of Bay Awards with the Student Special Judges’ Award given to Grant Gunderson for a Red Cross Campaign.
Gold ADDYs included the Consumer or Trade Publication award given to Kim Eason for Red Cross Superheroes and the Consumer or Trade Magazine Ad won by Grant Gunderson for his Red Cross Campaign.
The Silver ADDYs for Direct Marketing was given to Shaquea Moore for SMOORE and the Direct Marketing wasd won by Amy Herchel for Palm Reader’s Guide.
Stella Poco won the Consumer or Trade Magazine Ad for the Red Cross Campaign
and Andrea O’ Brien won the Consumer or Trade Magazine Ad for Natural Inspiration.

Winners at District will go forward to the national American Advertising Federation competition in San Francisco, June 10. The outstanding ads will be published in AAF’s “The Book,” on CD. The local top-scoring winners of Gold ADDY Awards will automatically advance to compete in the Fourth District (Florida/Caribbean) ADDYs in Miami. “The Art Institute of Tampa is proud to be represented by such talented, motivated and professional students,” said Victoria Snabon Heath, Director of Career Services. “The student ADDY competition provides a stellar venue for the presentation of student work to industry professionals and the public at large. Contacts made through participation in this event will benefit our students throughout their professional careers.”

The 2006 – 2007 ADDY Awards honors the cream of the crop in advertising in Tampa Bay and includes active participation from renowned advertising agencies, freelancers, production companies and service providers. Categories range from print and broadcast to websites, disk-based sales packages and new media.
