PHUKET COMPANY RECEIVES ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD

Phuket's Scuba Cat Diving has recently been announced as a recipient of the prestigious Project AWARE Foundation Environmental Achievement Award for 2006. This is the first time that a Phuket company has been honored with this status.

The foundation is the dive industry’s leading nonprofit environmental organization and each year recognizes outstanding environmental efforts made by dive operators around the globe. These facilities lead by example, helping to motivate and inspire divers, consumers and local communities. Award winners operate their business in an environmentally responsible manner and exemplify the Project AWARE philosophy within their daily operations. In 2006 a total of 38 dive companies world wide received the award.

“The Environmental Achievement Award is about rewarding vision, excellence and the pursuit of conservation. More importantly, this award ensures the enjoyment of underwater environments for future generations,” states Dr. Drew Richardson, Chairman, Project AWARE Foundation.

Scuba Cat Diving is thrilled to have been selected for such recognition in a truly important and essential aspect of human endeavor. The award caps off over a decade of commitment to the goal of preserving and enhancing the marine environment around Phuket.
