ARIZONA’S PREMIER AFFORDABLE LUXURY SPA SECURES SECOND LOCATION, BLOWS AWAY INITIAL GROWTH EXPECTATIONS

Mesa, Ariz. (February 2007)- With a second location established and a 20-person waiting list for franchise stores, Fuchsia, a new kind of spa and beauty boutique specializing in high quality treatments at affordable prices, announced today it has surpassed initial sales expectations and doubled membership growth since opening its doors in November 2006. The second Fuchsia location in Arizona is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2007 and the third location, which is still in negotiations, is planned to be open around the same time. Once the new stores are finished, the three locations will mark the corporate-owned stores. Future Fuchsia locations thereafter will be launched by franchisees.
Fuchsia’s second site will be located in Chandler, Ariz. at The Promenade at Fulton Ranch—a 150,000-sq. ft lifestyle center anchoring high-end specialty retailers and restaurants such as AJ’s Fine Foods, Girly Girls and Sau’tee.
“When we created the Fuchsia concept, we set an extremely aggressive growth strategy,” explained Erin Owens, co-founder of Fuchsia. “To position ourselves as a leader in the marketplace, we knew we had to move quickly to achieve our goals.”
In only three months of business, Fuchsia has doubled expected spa memberships from 30 to 60 per month. Fuchsia’s $59 monthly membership provides clients with special affordable prices on monthly treatments, exclusive benefits like access to special events and discounts on all retail products. Members receive one treatment at the $59 treatment and can choose between an array of services such as a relaxing massage, clarifying facial, hair removal or PCA facial peels. As part of the membership, clients can choose additional services at a discounted rate of $45.
Fuchsia is also introducing this month a body scrub treatment to help exfoliate dead flakey skin off the body along with a back facial designed specifically for that hard-to-reach problem area for some.
“We have had an overwhelming response to our membership prices and offerings,” says Lisa Vukonich, Co-founder of Fuchsia. “Aside from the long-term effects of regular facial and body treatments, the low-cost monthly membership and special benefits are what set Fuchsia apart from other spas in the market.”
In addition to membership increases, Fuchsia has also seen a spike in retail sales—creating a 50/50 revenue split between services and products. The front retail section of the storefront has proved to be a one-stop shop for all beauty needs, eclectic gifts, accessories and apparel for women and babies.
