Chokola’j is Welcomed into Pride of NY Program

Moriches, NY – Chokola’j is welcomed into the New York State Pride of NY program which promotes the sale of agricultural and food products that have been grown or processed in NY, furthering their support for locally produced goods. Members are awarded with a prominent listing on www.prideofny.com as well as given access to state resources and shows.

Susan Kennedy Co-Founder and Chocolatier had this to say about their acceptance “we were really excited when we found out; the Pride of New York signs are in some of the best shops on Long Island. It really helps in promoting local businesses”. When asked of the importance of this program Daniel Kennedy states “proximity to our food source is important because we can witness how our ingredients are being treated while they are being farmed / harvested before we receive them. This allows us to make educated decisions on what we purchase. Carbon emissions are also reduced by purchasing locally, as a result of shorter shipping distances”.
