Shoutmouth to Offer Most Comprehensive Music News Anywhere
February 15, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
Shoutmouth today announced they will soon launch a new website, Shoutmouth.com. The website will offer comprehensive music news on over 850 popular music artists, filling today's void in music news. According to Pete Kennedy, a co-founder, "Music news really should reflect your musical taste. However, most music news websites only cover the top ten music stories each day - the stories with mass appeal." According to Kennedy, this generic offering does not satisfy the needs of most music fans.
Says Kennedy, a 2003 graduate of Harvard College, "When you look at most people's iPods, they're listening to many different artists and genres of music. We think that music fans should be able to read news on all their favorite artists, just like you scroll through songs on your iPod. That's why we created Shoutmouth."
Stories that appear on Shoutmouth come from hundreds of online news sources. Members and staff hand pick these stories, offer their insight on them, and publish them on the website. Shoutmouth editors ensure that all stories are properly classified by artist and genre, and that duplicate articles are filtered out. To ensure accuracy of news, all articles source the website on which the news was originally reported.
By publishing more than 100 news stories per day, Shoutmouth will allow music fans to stay updated on their favorite artists. In addition to providing the daily news, Shoutmouth offers site members the ability to:
• Comment on news stories
• Submit news stories
• Suggest new music artists to add to the site
• Create member profiles and interact with other members of the site
• Receive customized news and email alerts based on their favorite artists
As its founders see it, Shoutmouth is part of a broader movement in the music and news communities to give consumers more control.
