Search and Safety Top Priorities for Popular Wholesale Directory
February 14, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
February 14, 2007. Safety and fast search are two of the biggest issues facing the Internet today. “Internet users want good quality results fast and they want to know that they aren’t going to be scammed,” says Chad Thompson, Community Development Manager. It is these two issues that have led SaleHoo to give their acclaimed directory a makeover that includes a new category system for sorting suppliers, quick supplier contact details, a 3-way review system and a brand new mediation service. SaleHoo currently has over 2000 suppliers in its directory and these have now been sorted into four categories:
Drop shippers, Wholesalers, Closeout/Liquidators and Manufacturers. “Search speed is highly important to us,” says Thompson. “Our members usually have a clear idea of what type of source they wish to purchase from – they quickly figure out which type of supplier gives them the profit margins they need.” He goes on to add: “With our new category system, they can go straight to the type of supplier they want for their product, rather than searching through dozens before hitting on the type they need. And for members who are still unsure of the best option, categories make it significantly easier to compare what different suppliers have to offer.”
Another updated feature is quick supplier contact details. Previously, members had to click through to the supplier’s website to find contacts, but revised profiles now enable members to see a contact name, phone number, email address and whether a reseller license is required for purchases, at a glance.
Ensuring the professionalism and reliability of suppliers is another important concern for SaleHoo – particularly in the face of increasing numbers of fraudulent wholesalers on the web. Sadly, prior to joining SaleHoo, many people undergo confidence-shattering experiences with illegitimate wholesalers who provide damaged merchandise or take money and disappear.
SaleHoo believes their new 3-way review system will give their members the reassurance that they are dealing with only first-class, professional suppliers. From January 2007 onwards, all suppliers will eventually be reviewed directly by SaleHoo, by two additional independent reviewers, and by SaleHoo members.
Thompson says “Our new review system will ensure that only the very best suppliers are listed in our directory. Reviews are carried out by experienced eBay powersellers and wholesale sourcing experts purchasing anonymously who note factors such as customer experience, communication, payment methods, and turnaround time.” This process is expected to take several months, but members with any particular requests will be put at the top of the list.
In the meantime, if members do have any problems with suppliers, SaleHoo have implemented a new mediation service that allows people to register a complaint against a particular supplier. SaleHoo will investigate any allegations and if necessary, provide mediation between the member and supplier.
Thompson adds that more new features will be coming shortly: “Our aim is to help all our members successfully make money on the Internet by ensuring SaleHoo exceeds expectations with the very best resources.”
