Serviced office company Avanta is supporting a Government initiative which aims to develop the educational and life skills of school girls, to help them reach their full potential.Avanta has opened the doors of its prestigious business centre at Charlotte Street in London’s West End to pupils and teachers from the Charter School, who will have free use of the company’s high quality Charlotte Street Meeting and Training Rooms in the West End and equipment over two days. The school is signed up to the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) Coaching for Success programme, which aims to help girls improve motivation and success at school, develop self-confidence and social skills, and build better relationships with adults.
Simon Williams, Assistant head teacher at the school and Director of Learning at Key Stage 4, said: “We are extremely grateful to Avanta for their generous support in providing the office space in Charlotte Street, West End for this two day course. We’re delighted to have such a fantastic environment in which to deliver this important programme.”
David Alberto, Chief Executive of Avanta, said: “We are delighted to support this worthwhile initiative. Who knows, maybe in a few years one of the girls might be actually working in an Avanta office in their chosen career!”
The programme was attended by 24 girls aged 13 – 15, who were accompanied by four teachers. Avanta also provided lunch on both days, and is committed to providing further support to the initiative in the future.
