While researching the “MLS Resale Data” from Metropolitan Regional Information Systems, Inc., Andy found that there were roughly 2¼ to 2½ times more homes on the market in 2006 than there were in 2005 (in the areas cited). What’s more, during the 12-month period from December 2005 to December 2006, the average number of days on the market at least doubled in those same areas. Given these past trends, it is likely that the buyers market should continue throughout spring 2007, making it a great time to purchase a new home.
