Bangalore, Janary. 30, 2007 – Magma® Design Automation Inc. (NASDAQ: LAVA), a provider of semiconductor design software, today announced significant expansion of its operations in India with the inauguration of a new 40,000-square-foot facility in Bangalore. Magma is the only global EDA Company to have a three-city R&D footprint in India – it opened a new facility in Noida in 2006 and gained a Mumbai office as part of its November acquisition of Knights Technology. The three facilities will enable Magma to expand significantly in the region, provide better support to its rapidly growing customer base in India and tap into the world-class engineering talent available in and around these three centers.

The opening ceremony for the Bangalore facility was presided over by Rajeev Madhavan, Magma chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and Roy E. Jewell, President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. They were joined by M N Vidyashankar, IT secretary, Government of Karnataka, and J. Parthasarathy, Director, STPI-Bangalore, as well as key customers and partners.
