Pasadena, CA, February 2, 2007 - Love is in the air as Valentine's Day rapidly approaches, but many singles are in a panic because that special someone is yet to be found and the yearning to fill thy heart’s desire with romance is still burning strong. Most singles have experimented and tested their options with speed dating or online dating, and many are jaded from the club and bar scene. Perhaps it’s time to take the road less traveled, go off the beaten path and explore a unique approach to finding a compatible mate, someone with similar sensual interests, or in this case, similar scent-ual interests. Dali Yu, founder of The Soap Kitchen believes that while following your heart to find your mate might work for some, for those of us who need that extra chemistry, following your nose just might be the way to go, so she asks us all, “Do you believe in soapmates?”The Soap Kitchen in Old Town Pasadena is taking the monotony out of the single’s scene in the greater Los Angeles area by providing a fun and interesting way to meet new, like-minded individuals. Participants will get to smell a variety of essential oils and rate them according to their likes and dislikes. They will also fill out a basic profile and answer a few personality questions. The concept is to make a match that is compatible based on common preferences of scents such as patchouli, lavender, clove or verbena, just to name a few. Once the matches are made, each couple will get to make their own custom all-natural soap by mixing the essential oils of their choice into an all-natural olive oil soap base. The blending of essential oils in beauty products are intended to amplify and compliment a person’s natural pheromones, and in turn arouse your attraction to the opposite sex. With that in mind, this unconventional approach is sure to bring singles together for some stimulating, yet good clean old-fashioned fun.
To calm those first-date jitters, drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served. When all is said and done and the soap is chillin', participants will have the chance to shop the entire store at a special 20% discount. The event will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 7pm and the cost is $20 per person. It’s a small price to pay for a chance to meet your soap mate and to possibly find a sweetheart for this Valentine's Day.
The Soap kitchen is dedicated to preserving the earth, the animals, and the environment by offering products that are all natural and free of artificial colors, fragrances or preservatives commonly found in commercial soaps.
