Jacksonville Symphony to Perform Pops Concert at Palencia

St. Augustine, Fla. - As the summer creeps ever closer, early April showers give way to temperate breezes and cloudless nights - perfect weather for an outdoor concert. In what has become a much-anticipated annual event, The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra will perform a special pops concert on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Palencia, the award winning Hines master planned community, located between Jacksonville and St. Augustine.

"Palencia Pops Under The Stars" will take place on the lush practice green adjacent to Palencia's championship golf course, with a tentatively scheduled start time of 6 p.m.

Lawn seating will be free again this year and in lieu of patron tables, sponsorship packages are being sold for the event in denominations ranging from $100 to $1,000.

All sponsors will receive acknowledgment in this year's program. While lawn seating is free. Concertgoers urged to bring blankets and chairs. A $50 VIP ticket will secure you preferred tiered seating and a souvenir Palencia lawn chair.

Under a twinkling blanket of stars and surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty of one of Northeast Florida's most picturesque areas, Palencia serves as a perfect backdrop for this eagerly awaited event. With its intricate network of hiking and bike trails serving as passageways to breathtaking Intracoastal views, numerous parks and diverse neighborhoods, the Spanish influenced community can hold its own with the sun high overhead as well!

To visit this award winning community, take U.S. Highway 1 south to Palencia Village Drive, east of International Golf Parkway in St. Johns County. The Palencia Sales & Information Center is located approximately one mile inside the entrance. The center is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and Sunday 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
