The Answer To Drab, Dowdy Women’s Golf Clothing: Stylish Athletic Line Launched On Web

DENVER— Frustrated that most women’s golf apparel is not flattering on younger players and unavailable with an athletic fit and in small sizes, a Denver woman has launched her own line of high-end skorts, shirts, jackets and pants— all made of self-wicking stretch fabrics and one style with an eye-catching leopard print.

“My clothing comes in those small sizes I always found hard to find—extra small in tops and down to size 2 in pants and skorts,” said Tracey Lynn Blake, founder of tracey lynn golf, LLC. Her inventory includes up to extra large tops and size 12 pants and skorts.

Blake, 39, models her line which is available exclusively on the Internet at www.traceylynngolf.com.

She is a lifelong athlete who played competitive softball and skied until knee injuries forced her to less adopt less grueling activity. Now, she is an 11-handicap golfer at Lakewood Country Club.

“For years I have been in search of the ‘perfect’ golf clothing – clothing that was not only stylish, but actually fit!,” Blake said, adding that, “As a younger golfer and country club member, I wanted to design women’s golf attire that was flattering but also followed the requirements of a country club or resort.”

Priced from $109 to $119, Blake’s line includes mesh, the leopard and other prints. She scoured the New York Garment District, Los Angeles Fabric Show and athletic wear trade shows to find comfortable moisture managing fabrics that were anti-microbial and UV protectant.

“The goal was it had to feel good to wear,” Blake said, adding that “It always seemed that if I did stumble upon cute golf clothing, it was never available in my size or, inevitably, it was poorly made.”

The line fits petite women and junior golfers. To ensure quality, Blake uses a high-end low-volume private label clothing manufacturer in Los Angeles.

“I’ve chosen ‘Swing in Style’ as my company motto—and I think the mesh and prints, particularly the leopard we use live up to it,” she said.

Her summer collection is in design and will be ready for sale in March.
