For almost two decades, Kaminski Auctions, headed by Frank Kaminski, has specialized in appraising and auctioning fine antiques from estates throughout New England. At a recent auction of paintings, William Bradford's "Arctic Sunset" sold for an impressive $471,500 to a Northeast collector and "Misty Moonlight," oil on paper mounted on panel by Albert Pinkham Ryder, which came from a San Diego collection, sold for $120,750. The Ryder had an extensive exhibit history and since 1931 had been in the collection of John Whitaker Hollister of San Diego.
"I am thrilled to be launching our operations in San Diego with this sale," comments Kaminski. "I now own a home in La Jolla and I have found that the San Diego area has a wealth of both sophisticated and beginning collectors who enjoy antiques and fine art. We look forward to bringing to market the best that the area has to offer."
