Fifty Plus Advocate is also the publisher of four Massachusetts newspapers focused on issues confronting aging baby boomers and their parents. Printed editions appear every other week and reach a readership of 200,000. The company was established in 1975 making it the longest running mature market publishing company in the United States.Fifty Plus Advocate has recently launched the new website, FiftyPlusCaregivers.com as a replacement for FiftyPlusAdvocates.com. Geared toward its mature lifestyle audience, the site serves as an online caregiving resource guide by offering links and businesses that cater to seniors and caregivers from all six New England states.
According to Phil Davis, Fifty Plus publisher for 32 years, “Our new site really acts as a ‘reference desk’ for seniors and caregivers throughout the region. Knowing our readers, we’ve developed a site they can quickly turn to and find service providers, special products and more.”
Davis continued, “The typical scenario was that the daughter or daughter-in-law living with caregiving responsibilities anywhere in New England was quickly overwhelmed with trying to cobble together much needed resources for her aging mom or dad or favorite aunt. Previously there was no central and single website to address the full range of needs such as home care providers, elder law attorneys, day care, stair lifts, reverse mortgage specialists, assisted living centers, home-delivered meals and much more. Now information is a click away.”
The new site offers over 9,500 resources for seniors and their caregivers and is still growing. Special databases, organizational directories and others sources were painstakingly culled and keyed into FiftyPlusCaregivers.com to ensure depth and objectivity.
The new site nearly doubled its hits its first day online reaching nearly 6,000. The website will continually be added to and upgraded with new features.
Although the website is supported by advertisers who receive a more expansive page within the site and a link back to their corporate site, all senior service providers in the New England region receive free listings.
