Raincity Studios and Friends Win 2 Awards at the 2nd Annual New Media Slam Gala.

Friday April 1, 2005 - The New Media SLAM http://www.newmediaslam.com competition awards were handed out at the Sugar and Sugar in Gastown. The competition - which is inspired from short film festivals and poetry slams - gave participating teams 48 hours to collaborate, author, animate, film, design, code, edit and deliver an original New Media production.

The finished product includes images, video, sound, text and most importantly, audience participation. In the tradition of a slam, the competition was judged by its audiences and peers via internet voting.

"Some of the creations were shorts of 30 seconds, others looped over and over as long as you interacted with them," said Karen Middleton, producer of the awards.

Raincity Studios - BCIT New Media Crew took home 2 of the 5 prices including ZeD People’s Choice Award and Best Interactivity Arward.
