Continental Sausage, a family owned gourmet sausage manufacturer in Denver, Colorado has just developed 2 more delicious flavors. “We honor our family’s heritage by producing small batch, handcrafted recipes using only the finest ingredients available. We purchase ingredients from American sustainable farms that raise their animals without antibiotics or hormones. We never use MSG or fillers and only use natural casings,” said Liz Blackwell, a company spokesperson.

“We are very excited about our 2 new sausages. A couple of years ago we developed a buffalo jalapeno & cheddar brat and an elk jalapeno, cheddar brat. Little did we know how popular this flavor would become? Many of our customers suggested that we make a smoked pork sausage with the same flavor profile. After a lot of testing we’ve finally perfected the recipe and it’s now available. The spicy Polish was developed because one of our long time customers, who loves Polish sausage, asked that we make a Polish with a little zip. We worked directly with this customer to develop this sausage.”

Continental makes and distributes traditional German and Swiss sausages and meats like Swiss style weisswurst, Waadtlaender bratwurst, wieners, and frankfurters, knackwurst-regular and cervelas style, smoked bratwurst, and buendnerfleisch (bresola), landjaeger, bauernschinken, smoked spec, and Black Forest prosciutto.

In addition to the classics, Continental Sausage has developed some truly unique, one of a kind sausage items, Southwestern buffalo with chipotle and green chili, wild boar with apricots and cranberries, pheasant with spinach, mushrooms and parmesan cheese, chicken apple and chicken spinach.

The Continental Sausage line of liversausages and liver spreads is unsurpassed in quality and taste. These liver spreads offer quality flavors at a price that won’t damage the pocketbook. Try these exciting flavors, Westphalian liver spread, braunschweiger, hausmacher, and delicatess.

Colorado’s microbreweries produce some of the countries best small batch beer. Continental uses an amber from the Wynkoop Brewery to produce the Railyard Ale Beer Brat, and another beer from Breckenridge Brewery to make the Avalanche Ale beer bratwurst.
