Portland, OR—April 1, 2005—Sports Management Worldwide officially welcomes Grip founder and President Bret Polvorosa to its staff. Polvorosa, a sports sales and marketing specialist, will join instructor Tom Leip in facilitating SMWW’s Sports Revenue Management Course.

Lynn Lashbrook. “This is someone who is making a successful living in sports working with numerous sports entities throughout the country and he’s done it all from scratch. His story will speak to a lot of people. He learned how to use his business skills as a vehicle into the world of sports, and he’s offering to help our students do the same.”

“I broke into this business over ten years ago by accepting a part-time, commission only ticket sales position in minor league baseball and that job wasn’t easy to get,” said Polvorosa. “Now I work with and train the sales, service and marketing departments for many prominent sports teams and collegiate properties throughout the country. It’s exciting to join the SMWW team because I know first hand what it’s like trying to get a job in sports without having the right connections and can provide students a marketable skill set that I know team executives seek.”
