MAJOR HANA RECORDS AND MAJOR HANA PRODUCTIONS TEAM FOR 2 "MAJOR HANA" THE MOVIE SOUNDTRACK CONTESTS ON MYSPACE

Major Hana Records and Major Hana Productions have joined forces to launch 2 unique music contests on MySpace.com, "Gladiators Amongst Men" and "Major Tracks", both tied to the upcoming film, Major Hana, the companies jointly announced on Christmas Day, 2006.

The first contest, "The Gladiators Amongst Men", gives musicians the opportunity to have a song featured in Major Hana — The Movie - which opens Fall 2007 - and on the film's official soundtrack. Interested artists can submit songs by logging on to www.myspace.com/majorhanarecords. Submissions will be received through July 31st, 2007, and the winners will be announced on August 15th, 2007 on www.myspace.com/majorhanarecords, and the contest is open to all genres of music.

"There are 3 million talented musicians and bands on MySpace and it's hard for them to get their music heard by record labels and producers, let alone film companies and filmmakers," says Maui's guitar/ukulele ace, and Major Hana Records in House producer, Vince Esquire. "We're excited to hear their submissions and are looking forward to finding a song out there that will be a perfect fit for the groundbreaking movie, Major Hana".

The Major Hana Players will vote on submitted tracks and narrow the competition down to 10 finalists. From there, the Major Hana filmmakers will choose the winning selection. Major Hana Records and Major Hana Productions are working with Shawnald Consultations on the MySpace contests. Shawnald Consultations is a leading, web 2.0 consulting firm, based on Maui, Hawaii.

"'Major Hana' is already receiving a ton of online buzz and we are excited to extend this opportunity to the MySpace community to help artists get more exposure," says Major Player, and voting member, Shawn Michael, of the band Kanekoa.

Maui band, Kanekoa, has 8 songs on the Major Hana Soundtrack, and the band, as well as their original music, will be featured in "The Heartbreak Kid", a Fall 2007, Dreamworks release, starring Ben Stiller and written/directed/produced by The Farrelly Brothers.

"Major Hana" was directed by Sony/AFI award winner Jonathan Block, the film is about a journey an American guy makes from Hawaii to London to see his girlfriend, not only physically but, emotionally. It's quite a journey and aboard a Routemaster bus, late at night in London, he meets several characters who are about to change his life forever! The movie also includes music from Vince Esquire, Kanekoa, and Funk legend, Fred Wesley. "Major Hana" was shot on location in Hawaii, San Diego, Los Angeles, and London, England. The Fall 2007 release of "Major Hana" will launch the 5.0 website www.MajorHana.com, a virtual 'one-stop-shop' website that combines the best of Google, YouTube, MySpace and iTunes with PalmPilot and HD Viewer technologies.

The second contest, "Major Tracks", open to all MySpace users, is a worldwide, internet contest awarding 2 airline tickets, 2 nights hotel accommodation, and tickets to the premiere of "Major Hana" in London, to the first person who posts the entire 28 song tracklisting, artists and songs, on http://www.myspace.com/majorhanathemovie.

It will be highly interactive, a lot of fun, and the winners will embark on an experience they will never forget.

From January through July 31st 2007, Major Hana Records will be posting various clues for the artist and title of each of the 28 songs on the soundtrack on www.myspace.com/majorhanarecords. The clues will not be in any specific order, although the track number will be posted with each set of clues.

The winner will be announced on August 15th, 2007 on myspace.com/majorhanathemovie.com.

The first song - out of 28, is an easy one with an easy clue. The first song on the Soundtrack, and the song that starts the movie… is the song that plays on www.MySpace.com/MajorHanaTheMovie.
