LOS ANGELES, CA— Just weeks before its premiere at the 15th Annual Pan African Film & Arts Festival (PAFF) February 8-19, 2007, the soon to be released DVD entitled A Taste of Us has in a sense been baptized and born-again as Lord Help Us. The urban inspirational comedy is the directorial debut of former child actor, Shavar Ross (Diff’rent Strokes) of Tri-Seven Entertainment with distribution by Image Entertainment.

“The original title was carried over from my 1960’s based film short, which was motivation for the story line. It had some sentimental value in that aspect, but I wasn’t married to it. So when we (Tri-Seven and Image Entertainment) sat down to discuss the true meaning of the film, “Lord Help Us” was more suitable, given its modern aspect”, expresses Ross.

The story follows two best friends who help an elderly pastor regain his church and life after members of his congregation are convinced he’s eloping with a woman 40 years his junior. Stars include newcomer Bill Toliver, Nadia Turner (American Idol), Joe Clair (B.E.T.), Margaret Avery (The Color Purple), Debra Wilson (MADtv) and Amentha Dymally, with special appearances by Omar Gooding (Baby Boy), Al Jarreau, Tico Wells (The Five Heartbeats), Sam Sarpong (MTV) and more.

The executive decision was mutual as the two companies organize promotions and marketing of the DVD’s release set for May 8, 2007.

Lord Help Us will debut during the Pan African Film & Arts Festival with a screening on Saturday, February 17th at The Magic Johnson Theater in Los Angeles, CA. PAFF registration and schedules available at www.paff.org
