Former BrassRing Chief Architect Launches SmashFly Technologies

SmashFly Technologies was launched on January 1st, 2007 as one of the first software companies specializing in developing web-services for Human Resources (HR). Started by Michael Hennessy, the former founding chief architect and technologist at BrassRing Inc (now Kenexa), SmashFly’s mission is to build industry standard web-services for the HR marketplace that help companies add core functionality to their existing HR systems in a very simple and cost effective manner.

SmashFly’s first offering, called SimplePost, is a job distribution web-service that enables any HR application the ability to automatically post jobs to a majority of job boards such as Monster, Dice, HotJobs, CareerBuilder as well as niche boards. Industry experts agree that web-service technology will create huge new opportunities for companies to simplify their software infrastructure and save money. According to Gartner “Software as a Service” and web-services are primed for enormous expansion: growing from just 5 percent of software revenues in 2005 to fully one-quarter of software revenues in 2011.
