Research Presentation To Be Held at CRS-38 On Friday, March 2
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 18, 2007) — The Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. (CRB) have announced that they will present "The Largest Study Ever of Country's P-1 Listeners, Part III." This is the third year for the study and the research will analyze whether Country can sustain its positive momentum. It will also look at the impact of new media and other forms of exposure on Country Radio. The study will also analyze the resurgence of Top 40 and pop music in some markets and the impact that it has had on Country fans, as well as give a snapshot of Country's hottest new artists.
The Research Presentation will take place on Friday, March 2 at 9:00 a.m. at Country Radio Seminar 38 (CRS-38). The study is being conducted by Edison Media Research. It is co-sponsored by CRB, Inc. and Country Music Association (CMA).
According to Larry Rosin, President of Edison Media Research, "We are excited to continue our tracking of country listeners this year. We will do our best to create findings that will help the industry continue its run of success."
According to Charlie Cook, Senior Format Director of Cumulus Media, who also serves as the head of the research committee for the CRB board, "This is our third year of looking at Country P1s for this research study. Remember that this project measures not only radio partisanship but explores the cultural opinions of our listeners and certainly the country's positions have shifted in the last two years. Beyond musical tastes and listening habits, understanding lifestyle issues allows us to make smart programming decisions. This project - year three of our extensive P1 study - coupled with our Hispanic research should help chart a course for our future."
"CMA is honored to have the opportunity to co-sponsor the 2007 CRS Research project," said Rick Murray, CMA Vice President of Strategic Marketing. "Both primary and secondary research is a key foundation of our mission to build a statistical case for advertisers, media, film and television producers to utilize Country Music and artists. It is also the basis for us to build financial projections and business models that have been used by everyone from new business development sectors to Wall Street. We are glad that we can extend our partnership with CRB by helping to co-fund this very important piece of research that will be presented by our friends at Edison Research at this year's CRS convention."
CRS-38 will be held February 28 through March 2, 2007 at the Nashville Convention Center. Complete Seminar information may be obtained by contacting CRB, Inc. at 615.327.4487 or by visiting www.crb.org.
