V-SOL GPS tracking solution aids Transport for London

London Buses "Technical Services Group", part of Transport for London, has enhanced vehicle visibility and control, and achieved significant business and operational efficiencies since it adopted the V-SOL Central solution from V-SOL Limited within its operation. To date, the company has increased productivity, whilst reducing overtime claims and fuel consumption.

The V-SOL Central vehicle tracking and fleet management system was selected by Transport for London to enable the organisation to co-ordinate its engineers more effectively and provide an improved level of service for all passengers of London Buses throughout Greater London, enhancing productivity and realising time and cost savings across its business. The company operates a 35-strong fleet, made up of mostly estate vehicle's and vans operating across the whole of London.

London Buses TSG has utilised both real-time and historical data to ensure vehicles and employees are operating to their full potential. As a result, improved visibility has increased the company’s daily job count, whilst exception reporting has identified where under-performance is occurring.

V-SOL Central has also allowed London Buses to better serve the travelling public "its customers". Jobs are now completed quicker and more effectively, and real-time vehicle tracking has enabled the company to provide a more responsive maintenance service. In addition, enhanced reporting capability provides an accurate breakdown of all works undertaken.

Vehicle security has been greatly improved, providing both a safeguard against theft and also assisting in duty of care responsibilities. Using the V-SOL Central solution, London Buses receives immediate updates of all vehicle movements, enabling them to minimise the potential impact of vehicle crime on their business.
