atsec participates in VETS GWAC contract award with the VetsAmerica Team

Austin, TX - atsec information security corporation is pleased to announce that the VetsAmerica Team, in which atsec participates as an IT security services provider, has received an award of a $5 Billion dollar GSA government-wide acquisition contract from the federal government (GSA contract #GS-06F-0533Z). The VetsAmerica Team’s imputed share of the contract is valued at $111 million. atsec brings certification and accreditation services to the VetsAmerica Team, including FIPS 140-2 testing, Common Criteria evaluation, and FISMA systems certification, Additionally, atsec provides information security services, including Payment Card Industry auditing, formal HIPAA reviews, penetration testing, and IT security training.The VetsAmerica Team won the award as part of the Veterans Technology Services (VETS) Government-wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) program. The program is the result of a 2004 Executive Order to strengthen federal contracting opportunities for SDVOSB technology firms such as VetsAmerica.
The VetsAmericaTeam , coordinated by John E. Collins, CEO of VetsAmerica, includes 25 separate firms located in 10 different states across the country. The scope of qualifications and expertise among the member companies covers a broad range of information technology specialty areas. The wide scope of available competencies, qualification of some Team members at Secret and Top Secret clearances, and proven record of Team members as providers of services to government agencies at all levels (as well as to industry-leading commercial customers) make the VetsAmerica Team a strong contender to provide wide-ranging IT technology services to federal government agencies within the scope of the VETS GWAC program.
