viagogo, the leading on-line secondary ticketing exchange, has confirmed its commitment to working with charities by offering fundraising organisations its on-line ticket auction facility as an innovative fundraising tool. The company has launched this cause-related initiative by auctioning tickets to the premiere of the eagerly awaited new Leonardo DiCaprio film, Blood Diamond. The event takes place on 23rd January, with proceeds going to Amnesty International.
The viagogo on-line ticket auction facility helps charities best use the special ticket packages that they secure for rare, one-off or must-see events. viagogo manages the auction, payment and delivery of the tickets leaving the charity to concentrate on what it does best.
Since its launch last August, viagogo has already supported the Leonard Cheshire Charity with the auction of exclusive ticket packages for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert at St. Paul’s Cathedral, conducted by the renowned John Rutter, and it has worked with Amnesty International to successfully auction tickets for The Secret Policeman’s Ball. Following these first charity initiatives, viagogo has now confirmed that it will offer its fundraising auction facility to all charitable partners with suitable tickets.
Eric Baker, CEO of viagogo said: “viagogo is the best way for people to get sought-after tickets safely and reliably. It’s also the most effective way for charities to sell donated tickets and raise funds. It means charities can benefit from funds raised from auctioning tickets without having to focus scarce time and energy on the process behind it. We are pleased we can help charities in this way and we hope to continue working with charitable organisations to support their causes.
