Glendale, CA –The YWCA of Glendale will be the proud recipient of a passenger van donated by MV Transportation for use in their Domestic Violence Programs. MV Transportation, the private company hired by the City to operate and manage the Beeline bus system has donated to the YWCA a 1997 F-350 passenger van to help with transportation needs.
“MV continually seeks opportunities to become involved in community-based initiatives such as the YWCA’s Domestic Violence Project,” said Nikki Frenney, MV’s Director of Communications. “Anytime we can assist in enhancing someone’s quality of life, we jump at the opportunity. We look forward to a long successful relationship with this organization.”
MV was approached by Eliza Karagezian who worked with Nikki Frenney the company’s Communications Director after last May’s “Loads of Love” campaign – a joint collaborative between Glendale Beeline and MV to benefit the YWCA of Glendale. The two-week campaign, encouraged area residents and businesses to “load” a 40-foot Beeline bus with a host of different necessities, including clothing, toys, cookware, bed linens, toiletries, diapers, department and grocery store gift certificates, etc.
After the success of “Loads of Love” and MV’s expressed desire to further assist the YWCA and its programs, the company began its internal search to find a vehicle suitable for donation. The van has the capacity to transport six passengers and two wheelchairs.
