New Travel Bags for Transportable Patient Lift
January 09, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
Franklin, MA – January 9, 2007 – Liko, Inc., a leading global supplier of patient lift and transfer solutions, has announced the availability of user-friendly travel bags for its popular “LikoLight” foldable home care lift. LikoLight lifts are designed to provide an added dimension of long distance mobility to home care users. The lifts can be folded or easily disassembled into three separate pieces, and are ideal for long-distance travel, a capability that is not practical when using conventional mobile floor lifts.
Most competitive home care lifts are restricted to the immediate environs of the patient’s primary living quarters. As a result, both home caregivers and lift-dependent home care patients can be limited in their ability to travel outside their immediate dwelling.
The newly announced travel bags can accommodate either a folded lift or the three individual subassemblies. The bags can also be equipped with wheels to permit conveyance across parking lots and through airports. Total weight of the entire lift plus travel bags is 60 lbs, including the unit’s battery. Total lifting capacity is 308 lbs.
Despite its compact size and light weight, LikoLight is ideal for all types of lifting situations commonly encountered in home care. For example, it can be used to lift between bed and wheelchair, to and from the toilet, or for lifting someone who has fallen to the floor. Raising and lowering functions are powered by gel-type batteries and major structural components are of high-grade aeronautical aluminum alloy.
