International Sharps Injury Prevention Group Honors CEO of Inviro Medical Devices

ATLANTA – January 9, 2007 – Reflecting his industry leadership, Inviro Medical Devices’ Chief Executive Officer Gareth Clarke was recently recognized as the recipient of an Honorable Mention in the International Sharps Injury Prevention Society’s (ISIPS) 2006 Sharps Injury Prevention Awards. Last month during International Sharps Injury Prevention Awareness Month, ISIPS honored recipients for reducing sharps injuries.
Clarke was nominated for the award by Vicki Pascasio, president and CEO of Healthshare/Texas Hospital Association. In her nomination, Pascasio wrote, “Gareth Clarke recognized the need for a resurgence of dialog to reestablish needlestick prevention as a priority. Using his leadership and creativity, he led efforts to research, document and raise awareness about the current state of needlestick prevention and opportunities for safety syringe design improvement. In addition, he prepared his company, Inviro Medical Devices, to launch an innovative range of safety syringes incorporating many of the design improvements identified by healthcare workers.”
