JUPITER, FL (JANUARY 2007) – Seven Kings Holdings, Inc., the premier South Florida marina development and holdings company, announces that Loggerhead Club & Marina, Riviera Beach; Loggerhead Club & Marina, South Lantana & Loggerhead Club & Marina, Hollywood have received their State of Florida, Department of Environmental Protection “Clean Marina” designations, bringing a total of six (6) Clean Marina designations to the nine marinas currently under the Loggerhead Club & Marina brand. The Clean Marina Program (CMP) designation recognizes marinas that are operating in an environmentally conscientious manner, so that Florida’s waterways will remain pristine and safe for future generations. “We are gratified to be awarded the Clean Marina designation in a program that is instrumental to the future of Florida,” said Raymond Graziotto, COO of Loggerhead Club & Marinas. “Those of us with a passion for clean water and protecting our marine habitat, greatly appreciate the dedicated efforts of the DEP and their Clean Marina program.”
In a mid-December ceremony, County Commissioner Warren Newell read the proclamation recognizing all three marinas, and officiated at the presentation of the Clean Marina flags, plaques and pins to Raymond Graziotto, President & COO, Seven Kings Holdings and Loggerhead Club & Marina, Tom Sheppard, Director of Marina Operations, Loggerhead Club & Marina, Lane Johnson, Harbor Master, Loggerhead Club & Marina, Riviera Beach, Matt Domke, Harbor Master, Loggerhead Club & Marina, South Lantana and Kelly Brandt, Harbor Master, Loggerhead Club & Marina, Hollywood. Bill Richards, Clean Marina Coordinator, DEP, Southeast District Office and Tim Rach, Assistant District Director, DEP, Southeast District Office, presented the Clean Marina award to Raymond Graziotto, co-owner of the marina brand.
The Loggerhead Club & Marina brand actively supports and seeks the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) “Clean Marina” status for all their marina facilities, ensuring that water quality will be maintained for new generations to come. The brand now has 1200 slips operating under the Clean Marina program in the State of Florida. The three new Loggerhead Club & Marina facilities are the 127th, 128th and 129th marinas in Florida to receive the Clean Marina designation. Loggerhead Club & Marina, Palm Beach Gardens was the third Clean Marina in Palm Beach County, and Loggerhead Club & Marina, Aventura was the first Clean Marina in Dade County.
"It is our pleasure at DEP and the Clean Boating Partnership to award the Clean Marina designation to three additional Loggerhead Club & Marina facilities,” said Bill Richards, Clean Marina Coordinator, DEP, Southeast District Office. “They should be proud of this environmental award, designating them as leaders in the protection of our waterways.”
The Clean Marina Program was developed by a partnership that includes the State of Florida DEP, the Marine Industries Association, the Florida Sea Grant Program, and the United States Coast Guard. In order to receive the Clean Marina designation, marinas must comply with stringent environmental regulations and meet all Clean Marina Criteria. Clean Marinas adopt safeguards that help keep solvents, sewage and fuel out of the water, while protecting manatees and other marine life who make the waterways their habitat.
