HOUSTON, TX. - Marilyn Eiland and Mark Woodroof, partners, Prudential Gary Greene, Realtors, welcome Beach or Bay Real Estate, Inc., based at Bolivar Peninsula, as an affiliate office, effective January 1, 2007.

Joyce Cooley and Mary Ellen Smith are the broker-owners of the new Prudential Gary Greene Realtors office, which covers the Bolivar Peninsula area and includes Crystal Beach, Port Bolivar and the surrounding smaller communities.

With a background that includes nearly 20 years of management experience with AT&T, Smith plays an active role in the Galveston Association of Realtors and currently serves on the organization's Multiple Listing Service board. Cooley's career included 20 years in the construction industry before she entered the real estate business eight years ago. Both Smith and Cooley live in the Bolivar area and are active in the community.

"The Bolivar Peninsula area is experiencing tremendous growth. We are seeing more outside investors than ever before and a large influx of clients in the market for second homes," said Smith. "In addition to sales, there is a continuing demand for short-term resort rentals."

Smith said the slogan of the office is "local experience - national connections." The added resource of national connections is what attracted Smith and Cooley to the Prudential brand. "We felt we could serve our clients better with a national presence and more connections to clients around the country," said Smith.

According to Smith, the laid-back area offers 32 miles of beach and is a top birding spot with several Audubon sanctuaries. "This is one of the best bargains on the Gulf Coast. We can still get some beach-front lots for under $200,000, and that's unheard of anywhere else."
