This venture follows closely on the heels of the launch of Twinkle Yarn in July 2006. Inundated with requests for a yarn collection, Wenlan created three categories of knits: Soft Chunky, Cruise, and Kids Mohair, and these yarns are featured extensively throughout the book. They are available in a gorgeous palette of shades such as urchin, powder, peacock, sapphire, lavender, seafoam, canary, tea rose, and dew, among many others.

Wenlan Chia was born in Taiwan and immigrated to the United States at the age of 23. She is the founder and designer of the fashion label Twinkle by Wenlan, which launched in 1999 with an array of colorful, exuberant, chunky-knit sweaters that have become its staple. Her ability to combine adroit knitting with fashionable, wearable designs brings a modern edge to the craft. Since its debut, the Twinkle world has expanded to include a full range of ready-to-wear clothing, as well as Twinkle Living, Twinkle Accessories, and Twinkle Jewels. Twinkle has been featured in such publications as Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, In Style, The New York Times, and Vogue, among others, and fans include Mischa Barton, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kate Hudson, and Scarlett Johansson. Wenlan has been the recipient of prestigious awards such as the Onward Kashiyama New Design Prize in Tokyo and the Competition of Young Fashion Designers in Paris. She currently resides in New York City with her husband, Bernard, and her French bulldog, Milan.
