MV Transportation, Inc. Retains City of Phoenix Contract; 5-year deal worth $66 million

Phoenix, AZ - MV Transportation, Inc. is pleased to announce the Phoenix City Council has voted to retain the company as the provider of the city's ADA Dial-A-Ride and Ahwatukee Neighborhood Circulator (ALEX) services. "Since 2001, when MV was first awarded this contract, our local and executive management teams have partnered with the City, Valley Metro and most importantly, the riders, to provide a quality transportation service that the community has come to depend on for most of their transportation needs," said Jon Monson, MV's Chief Executive Officer. "The retention of this contract demonstrates the strength of our partnership with the community."
Under the terms of the new $66.5 million five-year contract (with an additional five one-year options that could extend the company's partnership with the city through 2016), MV will manage and operate Dial-a-Ride, ADA and Same Day Demand Response paratransit service in Phoenix, and the ALEX services with 133 vehicles and nearly 270 drivers and support staff.
In Phoenix, MV utilizes Trapeze scheduling software, in-vehicle Mobile Data Terminals and Automated Vehicle Locators to monitor on-time performance. MV will be deploying DriveCam and the Zonar automated DVI system in the new contract term.
