The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County, Nev. recently praised MV Transportation's local general manager and team for their dedication to the RTC ACCESS paratransit passengers, resulting in an increase in productivity and zero trip denials. "(GM) Reno Navarette and staff here have done and are doing a fine job of providing RTC ACCESS transportation," wrote Gregory H. Krause, RTC executive director, in a letter to MV CEO Jon Monson. "In addition to good productivity they have achieved 95% or better on-time pickups and, in a short time of concentrated effort, have achieved the FTA mandated level of zero ADA trip denials attempted for several years, without success."
The RTC ACCESS service provides door-to-door, scheduled paratransit transportation for individuals who meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) eligibility criteria. MV Reno provides this much needed service to an annual ridership of more than 240,000 annually, with a team of nearly 20.
"Achieving zero ADA capacity trip denials while maintaining service punctuality and quality is an enormous challenge and the MV employees are meeting the challenge," Krause wrote. "Reno has done an excellent job of leading and developing his ACCESS staff through this process of ratcheting up the service standard."
The Reno team has also achieved 96 percent on-time van pickups under Navarette's leadership, according to Krause. "That is outstanding and we appreciate the results."
And this standard of service pleases both Krause and Monson.
"Their on-time performance is hard to beat and they have done an outstanding job in exhibiting true MV performance," Monson said. "I want to thank Reno Navarette and the entire MV team in Reno for their outstanding performance."
