Best-selling Spanish Travel Guide Authors Give It All Away for Free and Let You Be The Expert

December 22, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Lifestyle News
Murcia-based British authors, Debbie Jenkins and her husband
Marcus, first wrote their book, "Going Native in Murcia" to
solve a problem they had when it came to getting solid,
reliable and comprehensive information on the Murcia region
- there wasn't any!

But now, after successfully releasing the second edition of
their best-selling Murcia travel guide they've decided to
give all their town and city guides away for free on their
website at NativeSpain.com

You could be forgiven for thinking the sun has gone to their
head but they have a plan to publish the first truly
collaborative travel guide in print - written by the people
for the people.

Debbie says, "We first wrote our book because nobody else
had written much about the Murcia region. But the demand for
us to release a new edition every 12-18 months (to keep the
content fresh) would mean a full time job. Plus, we can't
possibly know EVERYTHING there is to know about Murcia and
we want the third edition to be even bigger and better than
this one when we release it next Winter."

Marcus adds, "So we thought, wouldn't it be cool if our
readers could get together and write their own travel guide
- just like us?"

The Jenkins' soon realised that in order to get people
involved in editing, adding to and updating the content
they'd need to give them free and easy access to it. So
they've decided to give it all away for free so everyone
can benefit from the team effort.

Debbie says, "Complete town and city listings are already
on the site and if your favourite town, restaurant or hotel
isn't included then you get to put it in there."

Much of what gets added to this website over the next year
will be published in the third edition of "Going Native in
Murcia" with all contributors being credited in the book.

Marcus adds, "NativeSpain.com will become much more
than an information site because it also enables people to
network, make friends and connect with loved ones back
home."

The second edition of "A Brit's Scrapbook: Going Native In
Murcia" is available from BookWorld Espana, on Amazon and in
all good bookshops now. Free access to all the town and
city guides can be found at www.NativeSpain.com
