AIESEC, hosts International Presidents Meeting (IPM) 2007 for the first time in Egypt

(Cairo, February 18th, 2007)- AIESEC, the world’s largest student-run organization, will host the annual International President’s Meeting 2007 in Egypt, February 18th – 27th, 2007, where the Presidents’ of 95 countries will reunite for the most important event of the year. The International Presidents Meeting is where almost 200 leaders from across the 95 country network will come together to elect new International leadership as well as develop future global strategies for the following year.
Our theme- Carving a Face to the Future- represents the role of Egypt as the heart of the Middle East with its strategic geographical location, diverse and rich culture, emerging markets as well as its tremendous prospect for potential business opportunities.
Egypt plays a major role in developing the future of the Middle East and African region. With the upsurge of violence and conflict taking place globally, Egypt takes on the responsibility of taking a leading role in creating a dialogue between the Middle East and Western societies and to create a wholistic view of the region.
Being the largest youth organization in the world, AIESEC is the ideal platform to network with like-minded individuals, organizations and leading corporate partners from across 95 countries. For the past 58 years, AIESEC has held a crucial position in bringing together influencial entities to work together for a common goal and develop future leaders that have the knowledge, skills, networks, and expertise to have a positive impact on their societies.
This is a particulary unique event globally as AIESEC in Middle East and North Africa will be present for the first time in IPM 2007 as a unified region.
IPM 2007 will mark the pathway for MENA countries to capitalize on the potential that lies within the region and to open the doors for dialogue, international cooperation, as well as business partnerships with over 22 global partners such as ABN AMRO, Alcatel, Cadburry Schweppes, DHL, EFMD, Electrolux, European Commission, EYF, Global Compact, H&M, Inbev, ING, Microsoft, PWC, P&G, Shell, Standard Chartered, UBS, UNESECO, UNFPA, Unilever and the World Bank.
Numerous national and regional corporate partners will also be present to support AIESEC in Egypt and will accompanied by various media coutlets.
