Ohio Preservation Alliance Issues Call for Nominations to 2005 List of Ohio's Most Endangered Historic sites
March 30, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
The Ohio Preservation Alliance, Ohio's oldest statewide historic preservation organization, has issued a call for nominations to the 2005 List of Ohio's Most Endangered Historic Sites. Since 1992, this list has served as a powerful tool to focus attention on deserving historic properties, as well as to highlight preservation-related issues that affect a community, region or the entire state. Properties included in past years' lists have been featured in news media across Ohio and the Midwest, and several have now been rescued from possible loss.
Starting in 2004, the Most Endangered List is now issued annually, allowing more attention on properties in peril. While significant properties and issues are eligible for re-consideration in the current year's edition, this year we will be adding an "update" to properties listed in previous lists. Nominated properties will be reviewed by a panel consisting of individuals involved in ongoing preservation activities, with the final list being announced during May, which is National Preservation Month. This year's edition will also be announced on a local level, with press events to be held in each community represented.
For more information on Ohio's Most Endangered, as well as an online nomination form, please visit the organization's website at: www.ohiopreservation.org. The website also includes a look at past Most Endangered lists.
To be considered timely, the nomination must be postmarked by April 30, 2005.
