Study Reveals Pathway from eBay Casual Seller to PowerSeller

Orem, UT – December 13, 2006 – With the help of eBay Certified Providers HammerTap research and WorldwideBrands.com, eBay sellers like Bryan Mills are finding they can make a lot more money on eBay. For a couple years, Mills was – what he called himself – a casual eBay seller, wanting to make a little extra income online.
“I had items I sold on eBay, but I wasn’t that serious about it,” says Mills, who sells out of St. Louis.
His level of seriousness increased when he was invited to participate in the exclusive Grow My Profits study, conducted by HammerTap and WorldwideBrands.com. The study is designed to determine how market research and product sourcing work hand-in-hand to increase the profitability of eBay sellers.
Half-way into the study, Mills turned from a casual seller into an eBay PowerSeller, which requires that you sell at least $1,000 in merchandise every month for at least three consecutive months. While Mills was listing 200 items before the study, he is now listing only 50, but making more than double his original sales revenues.
“Through using HammerTap, I was able to tell where I was doing things wrong and fix them immediately,” Mills says. “As a result, I’ve doubled my sales in less than a month. And using Worldwide Brands I can find more products to sell profitably.”
Although the study has helped Mills and each of the other study participants significantly, HammerTap and WorldwideBrands.com are looking to use it as an approach to help more casual sellers boost their profits online.
