NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 14, 2006) — In preparation for the 2007 release of their self-titled debut CD, Curb Records duo Bomshel is gearing up for their "Wicked Women of Tequila Rose" tour with several promotions sponsored by McCormick Distilling. Bomshel, comprised of singer Buffy Lawson and fiddle player Kristy O., will officially kick off the tour in early 2007.Kristy O. said of the sponsorship, "Tequila Rose, ice cream and a blender have been the best thing that has happened to the Bomshel tour bus!"
McCormick Distilling chose the duo as the official spokeswomen of Tequila Rose for their fiery spirit and their embodiment of the Bomshel philosophy: "A true Bomshel is a woman who ain't afraid to go to the grocery store with no make-up, who can hold her own around any man she'll ever meet, and who realizes the true importance of chocolate and mashed potatoes!"
In addition to a national tour, 2007 will usher in a series of promotional events for Bomshel and Tequila Rose:
- The "Tequila Rose Roadie" Sweepstakes offers fans the chance to live like a rock star as Bomshel's "roadie." The winner will travel in his or her own chauffeured tour bus to select dates on the "Wicked Women" tour and experience the life of an entertainer on the road.
- The "Tequila Rose Lady" Signature Flowers Program is a unique opportunity for winners to have the Tequila Rose imprint or their own personal message printed on the petals of roses and delivered to a friend or loved one.
- The "Tequila Rose 'Click the Chicks'" Promotion will reward winners for their photographic creativity. Fans will take their picture with life-size standees of Buffy and Kristy O. placed in select Tequila Rose retailers and bars across the country, and then send in their photos for the opportunity to win.
Since 2004, Buffy Lawson and Kristy O. have been bringing fans an unparalleled energy at their shows across the country. Their newest single "Bomshel Stomp" from their self-titled debut CD will be released to radio in February 2007. The song is a favorite at their shows and is quickly becoming one of Country Radio's most requested songs. Other songs on the album like "It Was An Absolutely Finger Lickin' Grits & Chicken Country Music Love Song" and "Today Ain't My Day To Care" show that Bomshel is a female force to be reckoned with. The songs on the CD are inspired by women who aren't afraid to take risks in life but also show the duo's sensitive side as they address the pressures modern women face in balancing work, family and relationships. The CD is slated for a March 2007 release.
