Global release of the Etrending service. A new innovative online solution for the analysis of medical data.

December 13, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
Etrending, a subsidiary of PHD Medical Inc, Montreal, Quebec, has released the first internet based scoring solution for the analysis of medical data. The service allows the user to upload their data to the central server from their own computer, manage it, and view the scored data in graphical and report formats. On its release, Etrending makes available the first internet based oximetry software. Other medical applications will be made available as the solution evolves to meet demand.

Etrending was developed due to a need for reliable, accurate and remotely available oximetry software to be used with PHD Medical’s pediatric OSA diagnostic service. The use of this solution during clinical operations validated the expected benefits of a centrally based service;

•Uploaded data can be shared globally and viewed simultaneously by multiple medical professionals.
•Utilizing the latest graphical tools the user to can review their scored data and change specific values to incorporate their own expertise.
•The solution can be updated frequently and immediately without having to reissue hard copies.
•Provided as a global service. Anybody can sign up and review study data. This allows for one specialist to give input into multiple clinics irrelevant of their geographical location.
•Advertising can be customized to target the user. This guarantees that a potential customer is only presented with adverts for products they want to buy.

The modular design of the solution allows for the addition of multiple types of medical applications interfacing a variety of medical devices. The first model to be released allows for the screening of study data derived from a nocturnal pulse oximetry study which utilizes data stored on a pulse oximeter. The initial goal is to interface with all oximeters that can record trend data and then migrate to additional types of medical devices and their associated data.

The Etrending solution has been treated as a medical device during development and will be certified to all related standards, including FDA. During the development and validation period, the Etrending service will be offered at no charge. Users should register at www.etrending.com to start utilizing the service. Etrending is currently looking for partners to further the development of the service by helping to integrate additional devices. Opportunities are also available to medical device manufactures and distributors who would like to market their products to a target market within a global audience.
