December 11, 2006: ST. LOUIS, MO – Terrestrial Digital’s PF7 Picture Frame Antenna was featured on NBC’s The Today Show Friday, December 8 in a segment showcasing holiday gift ideas for guys. The PF7 is an indoor HDTV antenna, disguised in an 8”x10” picture frame. The antenna works well in strong signal areas, typically within 15 miles of the signal transmitter. The frame can be wall mounted or displayed on a table with a stand.
In the "Gadgets for Guys" segment, CNET.com Senior Editor Rich DeMuro walked Today Show Host Matt Lauer through a number of different high tech gadgets for guys. Other products featured included the Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, and the latest handheld pocket organizers.
DeMuro explained to Lauer that HDTV owners can get the HD signal without cable, by using an antenna like the PF7. As they began talking about the PF7, DeMuro called it “The coolest thing I’ve seen.”
“The PF7 is one of a number of new antennas we’ve designed that reach out to a mainstream audience,” Terrestrial Digital President Richard Schneider said. “We’ve conducted extensive research to develop products that satisfy our customers’ demand for high performance and superior aesthetics.”
The PF7 has 6.5 dB of max gain and comes with a 75 ohm RG6 coaxial cable, fitted with an F-type connector. It is 9” x 11” and weighs just 1.5 lbs. The antenna sells for a retail price of $39.00.
Schneider started Terrestrial Digital in 2003, after becoming frustrated with the poor performance of several HDTV antennas he had tried. Schneider has continued to grow the company in that spirit of innovation, and plans to introduce a new line of antennas in 2007 that feature the most drastic improvements in antenna performance and design in three decades.
Terrestrial Digital has been featured in a number of top industry publications and has received rave reviews from industry insiders for its innovative product line.
The "Need a Gift for your Guy?" segment can be viewed on the show's website at MSNBC.com.
