As a Top 100 Independent Insurance Broker, Manchester’s Caunce O'Hara has always been ahead of the curve. However, they didn’t anticipate they could send the curve sky high by moving their policies online. Since launching an e-commerce website in September they’ve increased revenue by over 50 per cent. The website, developed by Harper James, allows freelance professionals to obtain quotations and if happy, apply and purchase policies in one easy transaction. It seems to have hit the mark, as 1500 freelancer policies were snapped up in the first eight weeks.
John Batty, broking director is over the moon with the recent sales surge. "Our aim is to deliver a full e-commerce solution for freelance professionals whilst offering a first class website that larger clientele will find informative and useful in their day to day operations. Early indications are very positive indeed."
Lawrence Jones, managing director of Harper James is not surprised by the success. “More and more industries are now realising the web’s potential. As long as you build a rapport and trust with your customers they’ll buy from you in their droves. It’s our job to build an online presence that delivers this.”
It's not just Caunce O'Hara that thinks the site is exceptional. The British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) is running an article in the upcoming edition of trade magazine ‘The Broker.’ The article recommends that all brokers aspire to deliver a website of the standard of Caunce O'Hara's. As part of their extensive research BIBA regards it as a "Model of Excellence"
