Nashville, TN (November 29, 2006) – Whiplash Records announces the release of Me Again, the new project from JILL PARR. Her third national recording, Me Again chronicles Parr’s journey through darkness to find renewal, hope and fulfillment, and she hopes to use this album as a tool to help encourage others in their walk.“I’m determined to encourage young women who can’t find a way to feel good about themselves, no matter what they do, and to reclaim the hearts of moms who find themselves torn between their childhood dreams and finding satisfaction in ten loads of laundry,” Parr explains. “I’ve personally felt completely lost with no hope of ever feeling better about myself. I’ve actually sat down on the floor and cried because I couldn’t see how my dreams and the fatigue of motherhood would ever balance themselves out.”
One inspiration in Parr’s healing and also for this album was the book, Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman’s Soul, by John and Stasi Eldredge.
"The song, ‘Where I Belong’ was penned after reading the book,’ says Parr. “My husband and I both read through it at different times and it exposed places in me that I had to allow God to work in my heart. I realized that God would stop at nothing to pursue my heart passionately and the song came from that place of discovery.”
Other stand-out songs include “The New Normal,” a song about the miracles of Jesus, The intensely personal “County Line,” “Just The Way I Am,” and the title track, “Me Again”.
With industry veteran and husband Brian Hardin (Manic Drive, FFH, Nouveaux, David Meece, Vicki Yohe) at the production helm, the goal was to make an album that highlights Parr’s strengths and her mission, rather than trying to meet industry expectations.
“For years Jill clawed her way like everyone else in Nashville to get above the noise for a few seconds and it was hurting her heart,” explains Hardin. “This time she knew what she needed to say and didn’t really care to stylize it for an industry. That made my job easy; I just had to sit there and watch the beauty unfold and she delivered tremendously on every single track.”
“Reach,” the first single from Me Again, is going for radio adds now on all formats. In addition, Parr is currently booking dates for the Spring and will be touring extensively in support of the new album.
A Detroit, MI native, Parr began singing in local churches at the age of 12 and in the mid-nineties was called to full time music ministry. She signed a recording contract with Absolute Records, releasing her self-titled debut in 1998 and after going through some bumps and reorganization within the industry, Orbit, the follow-up project was released in 2003 through Christian Records. Throughout the past eight years, Parr has garnered six national and international radio hits, gone on numerous promotional tours, received the coveted Billboard “Critic’s Pick” and performed countless number of shows, sharing the stage with top artists such as Nicole C. Mullen, FFH, Newsong, Greg Long and Bob Carlisle to name a few and playing in top-notch venues like BB King’s, the Gibson Café and The Fox Theater. Media appearances include “Focus on the Family” radio show, “Bridges,” “Good News AM,” “Live From Studio B,” “100 Huntley Street” and “Soul2Soul”.
