Wanaka, December 5, 2006 – Snow sports instructor training company, Rookie Academy announced accommodation details, final course dates and prices for its 2007 snowboard and ski instructor courses in Wanaka, New Zealand, today. "We’ve had a huge amount of interest already," said, company director, Garett Shore. "So it’s good to be able to get the information people need out there. We appreciate that coming to New Zealand for three months takes a bit of planning."
Shore was also happy to have confirmed comfortable apartment style accommodation for 2007 course participants. Quality accommodation for course participants is a big part of what the company offers and a new option to choose a single room is a natural extension of that.
"For us it’s never been about bunk beds in dorms but we’re also pleased to be offering a single room option this year," Shore said. “We understand that good accommodation is a huge factor in students’ enjoyment of their stay in Wanaka."
Rookie Academy is committed to offering a superior experience on and off the snow. The majority of course participants are British travelers taking a gap year skiing but past students have come from everywhere from Bulgaria to Malaysia. Those from the Northern Hemisphere have come a long way and for many it is their first time away from home.
Shore isn’t aware of any other ski or snowboard instructor course in Queenstown or Wanaka offering a single room option. He hopes that the option of having their own room will appeal to career break instructor course participants looking for a little more privacy.
"When you combine our standard of accommodation with a team of vastly experienced trainers, a resort renowned for its challenging terrain and a town that lives to ski and ride, we think we’ve got a winning mix."
The 2006 southern winter was a ‘great success’ for Rookie with over 100 students taking instructor courses and a 90% pass rate across all their programs. Early interest suggests 2007 courses will be popular and the Rookie Academy is looking forward to welcoming students to Wanaka.
